| for those who have not heard (like me until today)........this is the
story of daniel's awesome engagement......and the wedding is dec.
30th. whoop whoop!
daniel: ok lemme start from the beg.
k: cool
daniel: last monday i told her that the director of campus ministry
called and wanted me to go on a campus minister's retreat that was
scheduled for this past friday night. i told her brad was already
planning to go, but that he and phil (director of campus minsitry) both
wanted me there
daniel: she was bummed as i knew she would be cuz we had planned to hang out that night
daniel: i told her i wanted her to come down and spend some time with me before i had to go though and she was down with that
daniel: so she met me at wesley and we went for a long walk, sat on the
south oval and talked and hung out for a while. when we got back
to wesley brad was there and he was like, "we need to get going."
I also had my wesley polo on and had packed a bag, pillow, etc.
so we sold it really well that we were actually going on this retreat
daniel: also, as we were walking back to wesley, jimmy called me and
said he had left the oven on and was already halfway to OKC and asked
if i could go turn it off. i told him i couldnt but that i'd send
mindy. she said that would be fine
daniel: so i kissed her goodbye and sent her on her way and she was
going home, but first running by the condo to turn the oven off
daniel: when she got there, there was a brown envelope with a romantic
letter in it, that started by saying, "sorry i had to go uot of town,
but i wanted to give you something fun to do for a little while sinc ei
couldnt' be with you." and from that point she was going on a
scavenger hunt
daniel: sidenote: she said at that point she was al ittle suspicious
that it was coming, but really not sure, because she was so sure that i
had really gone to crosspoint with brad.
daniel: so she went all over norman to differet places that had sepcial
meaning to us and each place got a romantic letter with a clue to the
net place
daniel: eventually she ended up back at wesley and the last place she was to go was the sanctuary.
k: awwwwwwww
daniel: the week before brad had taken my picture with the ring down on
one knee at the back of the sanctuary. i got it blown up and it
was up front by the altar with a nice cardstock sheet that said "mindy
and daniel engaged on may 6th, bla bla bla)
daniel: our song was also playing in th background
daniel: so she's up at the front and she sees this picture and this thing that says we are engaged, but there's no me
daniel: i was hiding behin the soundboard and snuck out and got down on
my knee with the ring in the exact position i was for that picture
daniel: eventually she turned around and saw me and there i was 
daniel: after the excitement died down a bit i told her we were going
to applebees for dinner where we had our very first date and then from
there we'd go to her parents house and tell them and have some champagne
k: aw, *sniffle*
daniel: well when we got to applebees, we walked in and i said "ok this
is the last lie, i promise." there were 25 of our friends and
family there to welcome us and celebrate. my parents drove in,
her siblings drove in, and many of our friends were there
k: that's just awesome
daniel: the end
daniel: oh, it was totally awesome by the way!
daniel: the end
